Learning to balance on two wheels is all you need to start cycling, at any age! For many years parents have chosen stabilisers to help teach their child to cycle, but this completely removes the need for balance, so completely removes the most important skill your child needs. Therefore we always recommend a balance bike as your child’s first set of wheels. Low enough to stand over with confidence, but high enough to sit on and scoot along. As your child builds up speed, each stride gets further apart and in between strides, your child will quickly get to grips with staying upright! Once your child has mastered this, they can then start to get their head around using the rear brake to slow them down, again a very important skill when cycling!<\/p>\n

At just 3.86kg we\u2019ve done everything we can to produce a balance bike that\u2019s as easy for your child to handle as possible; being lighter weight allows even the most nervous beginners to climb on board and scoot with confidence in no time.\u00a0 After a little while each of those nervous little \u201cscoots\u201d will get longer and longer until you find yourself chasing after them as they glide along with a big grin on their face!\u00a0 Until then, we\u2019ve even added a little carry handle on the rear of the saddle for the inevitable walk back home, or to the car when patience learning has worn a little thin for the day.<\/p>\n

Other features include a rear brake with junior specific, reach-adjust brake lever so that stopping can be mastered once balance becomes second nature.\u00a0 And, a 135 degree head-lock to ensure the front wheel can\u2019t be turned too sharply, which could result in a catapulting child over handlebar incident ie; a definite end to the days practice!<\/p>\n
